 Welcome To Your Barns & Yard Wedding!

Every wedding that takes place here is unique, and filled with thoughtful touches and lovely details personal to each couple. But we want to give you an idea of the way your three-day wedding extravaganza with us might unfold, to help you fire up your imagination.

Here’s a proposed timeline for your celebration with us at Barns & Yard.

Arrival:

Your three-day stay with us starts at 1pm on the day before your wedding. The cottages are ready and waiting to welcome you and your overnight guests. So settle in, unpack and make yourselves at home.

Make It Yours:

You’ll have access to all the main spaces from the time you arrive until 5:30pm on the day before your wedding (this includes The Threshing Barn, The Gallery, The Cartshed, The Stalls & The Courtyard). Use this time to style, set up and put your stamp on the venue.

Call in the cavalry and get friends and loved ones to help out, fill the space with your favourite songs as you finalise the details and have fun with your set up. Add fresh flowers, favours and finishing touches to the décor, use our customisable chalkboards to create your signage and order of the day, and make each of our spaces magical.

Or, if you’re working with a wedding stylist, this is the time for them to cast their magic spell over the Barns, with you there to oversee and make sure everything is exactly as it should be.

Rest And Relaxation:

Once the styling is complete and the venue is looking gorgeous and wedding ready, it’s time for you to kick back and relax. The grounds, courtyard and cottages are exclusively yours to explore and enjoy.

Indulge in afternoon tea in the courtyard, take up residence on the jetty with your favourite tipple and watch the sunset, enjoy a meal cooked by your caterer (this will need to have been pre-arranged well in advance), or head off site for dinner at one of the local pubs and restaurants.

When it’s time to turn in, a wonderfully quiet night of comfort awaits you in our on-site cottages. Away from the hustle and bustle of the real world, you can escape from it all and get a peaceful night’s sleep.

Rise And Shine:

Wake up feeling refreshed and enjoy a leisurely breakfast in your cottage before you start getting ready. There’s no need to rush, and it’s our goal to help you feel completely at ease and under no pressure at all on the morning of your wedding day.

Your hair and makeup artists will have plenty of room to set up your pampering stations in the cottages, and if you’re having a civil ceremony we can arrange for your registrar to join you in the cottage as you’re getting ready, for any pre ceremony questions.

The I Dos:

And then suddenly, it’s time to get married! At Barns & Yard we have a range of stunning spaces both indoors and outside available for you to say your vows. Opt for the luxurious and light filled Cartshed, with its panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, the oak beamed splendour of The Threshing Barn or our Courtyard with its flagstones and covered Stalls. Our jetty and lakeside lawns make the perfect outside ceremony space and are fully licensed for civil ceremonies. You can find out more about each of our available spaces HERE.

Cheers!:

Congratulations, you are officially newlyweds, and it’s time to start the celebration! For your welcome drinks and pre-wedding breakfast entertainment, the world is your oyster. Fill the sky by the lake with petals of confetti (and get some incredible, unforgettable photographs while you’re at it), or mingle in the courtyard for canapés and crisp champagne.

Serve personalised cocktails on the lawns and get competitive with croquet and garden games, or take things under the Stalls or indoors to the Cider Barn should the weather not be kind. Catch up with old friends to the strains of a jazz band or a string quartet, and steal away with your new spouse for a walk in the woodland and by the lake, where you’re guaranteed some incredible couples portraits.

While you celebrate with whatever fabulous flair you choose, our staff will be busy behind the scenes, setting everything up for your wedding feast, and making sure everything will run like clockwork for you.

Time To Dine:

Take your seats for a delicious wedding breakfast whipped up just for you by one of our recommended caterers. We work with some of the best local caterers, who specialise in seasonal, fresh and contemporary food. You can find out more about our chefs, and all our recommended suppliers HERE.

Enjoy your speeches by candlelight, surrounded by friends and flowers, and watch as everyone you love breaks bread together under the same roof.

Happy Hour:

After the wedding breakfast, we suggest taking an hour to digest, relax and chat before your evening entertainment kicks off. While we make the spaces ready for your party and your band or DJ gets set up, we encourage you to take a stroll in the grounds, enjoy that gorgeous golden hour light with your photographer, find a cosy corner in the Cider Barn and grab a drink at our brand new built-in Cider Bar (excellently stocked and staffed by the team at The Watering Hole) as you prepare to hit the dance floor with panache!

Party Time:

Whatever your party style, we’ve got you covered. Twirl under the stars to acoustic guitar, or set the Threshing Barn’s timbers trembling with the latest hits.

When you need some sustenance to support all that dancing, evening food stations can be set up in the Cartshed or outside by the lake. Several of our recommended caterers offer a range of moreish street-food style options, perfect for late night hunger pangs!

As the clock prepares to strike 12, wave a fond farewell to your guests, and retire to your beautifully luxurious cottage to start reliving the memories of your amazing day.

Treat yourselves to a long lazy lie-in while we clear down the barns after the previous night’s festivities. Your florist will dismantle any remaining installations, and our team will gather together all your decorations, gifts and belongings in the Cartshed, ready for you to collect.

It’s time for you to bid us goodbye, and head off into the next chapter of your lives together.
